We are excited to announce the 2025 AI in Fire Engineering Summit! Join SFPE Foundation, NFPA Research Foundation, University of California Berkeley Engineering, and the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center on May 28-30, 2025 to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and fire engineering. Identified as a top priority for research, education, and outreach in the Grand Challenges Initiative (GCI) Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence (AI), & Cybersecurity white paper, this meeting will focus on the current state of AI in fire engineering, as well as chart a path forward for critical areas of research to advance fire safety globally. Net proceeds from the event will be used by the SFPE Foundation and NFPA's Fire Protection Research Foundation to fund projects on AI and Fire Engineering.

Gear up for the upcoming 2025 AI in Fire Engineering Summit with a pre-conference webinar! This FREE webinar will start with an overview, definitions, and a brief background on AI and machine learning (ML) methods. The discussion will then move to a technical presentation on the different types of existing models. This will include a high-level survey of the different models, examples of how the models work, and resources attendees can use to learn more. The objective of the technical discussion is to provide an entry point for the fire protection engineer to data science and open the black box to start the process of demystifying AI for our industry.
