FIRE SAFETY Conference

The Fire Safety Conference is organized by SFPE North Macedonia, a chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) — the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the science and practice of fire protection engineering.

This conference serves as a dynamic platform for professionals, academics, policymakers, and industry representatives to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and discuss innovative solutions that enhance fire safety and resilience.

By bringing together experts from across the region and beyond, the event promotes collaboration, professional development, and the sharing of best practices in fire protection engineering.

Opening Session: Fire Behaviour and Life Safety: A Holistic Approach

  • A captivating introduction to the nature of fire, setting the stage for deeper technical discussions.

Session 1:

  • A guided journey through the dynamics and development stages of fire, highlighting its behavior and progression

Session 2:

  • Part One: Focused on foundational concepts including structural fire resistance, compartmentation, reaction to fire, Eurocode fire principles, and fire curve analysis.
  • Part Two: Delved into operational aspects such as firefighting strategies, tactical ventilation in high-rise buildings, detection and warning systems, and a detailed breakdown of evacuation timelines—supported by real-life case studies.

Workshop

  • Presented a case study of a high-rise hotel with a ventilated façade similar to Grenfell Tower, outlining the challenges faced and the tailored solutions developed to meet client requirements.
