Practical Fire Safety – Challenges and Consequences

9. - 10. Sep 2026, Haugesund, Norway

Practical Fire Safety – Challenges and Consequences 9–10 September 2026 | Mærsk Safety Centre ("Hall of Flame") and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Haugesund, Norway

This two-day conference presents fire safety in both theory and practice, addressing what happens when a fire breaks out, what the consequences are, and how to make the right choices when selecting fire safety systems. Experience has clearly shown that both consultants and building owners benefit from acquiring direct knowledge on this subject — and this event offers exactly that opportunity.

The conference will provide insight into:

  • How different materials and products behave in fire
  • The consequences of inadequate or incorrect fire protection
  • How to document that chosen solutions deliver the desired level of safety

Highlights:

  • Live demonstrations of passive fire protection and suppression systems
  • Social evening with dinner, a presentation, and a campus tour in Haugesund
  • Review and discussion of all demonstrations

Participating suppliers (preliminary list):

  • Hunton AS — Can combustible blown-in wood fibre insulation be used in floor assemblies?
  • Bridgehill AS — A product to prevent fire spread between solar panels and roof surfaces
  • BVS Brannvernsystemer AS — How does a fire damper work?
