CoMS 2020/21, 20 – 21 April 2021

The 2nd International Conference on Construction Materials for a Sustainable Future (CoMS_2020/21) was organized by ZAG – the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute alongside co-organizing institutions the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Science, and the BAM – Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing from the 20th to 21st April 2021.

The scope of the conference was to address the importance of sustainable development for our future wellbeing, given that the building and construction sector is one of the main contributors to climate change. Due to Corona virus restrictions the conference instead of being organised in picturesque Bled it had to be moved on-line.

Still, CoMS_2020/21 conference attracted around 130 delegates working in the fields of innovations in materials and technologies, material – environment interaction, sustainable design, construction and maintenance, energy efficiency, recycling, and remediation, inspection, monitoring, assessment and repair, modelling from nano to structure, innovative components for a healthy, comfortable and sustainable environment, social and economic aspects of the building environment and digitalization and automation.

Conference also included special showroom devoted to projects with the aim of offering the same service as an on-site event would do for communication and networking experience. FRISSBE project participated with general documents about the project and promoted the FRISSBE ERA Chair employment offer.
