Fire Safety Conference 2026

11. - 12. Mar 2026, Trondheim, Norway

Fire safety for a safe and robust society

Norway is in the middle of a new risk situation. Critical infrastructure, data centres, energy storage, digitalisation and new construction methods create both opportunities and vulnerabilities. At the same time, a national security strategy, a new digital security law and stricter EU requirements are being introduced, while society's dependence on continuous operation is increasing. In this landscape, fire safety becomes a basic prerequisite for safety, trust and robustness.

One goal: Safety and robustness.
Discover new research, gain insight into governance and responsibility, and learn how we protect critical infrastructure in a new risk situation. The Fire Safety Conference 2026 brings together experts from government, business, research and emergency preparedness for two days of professional replenishment, experience sharing and networking.

The annual meeting of the Norwegian Fire Federation is held in continuation of the first day of the conference. Participation in the annual meeting is free.

As the national security strategy emphasizes:
"Public authorities, the voluntary sector, the business sector and other businesses must map their own values, know their own vulnerabilities and develop plans to better withstand serious incidents. It is especially important to be able to quickly restore operations."

The Fire Safety Conference 2026 brings together authorities, research, industry, insurance, consultants and emergency preparedness to shed light on:
• what makes society vulnerable
• how fire safety can be the strongest – or weakest – link
• how we can document the value of safety when decisions are made in boardrooms, on construction sites and in community planning
• how we handle complex issues at the intersection of safety, economy and technology
