Slovenian's Minister of Defence Visits the FRISSBE Fire Laboratory

The Fire Laboratory in Logatec had the honour of hosting the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, Mag. Borut Sajovic, accompanied by Leon Behin, Director of the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief.

The visit began with a formal reception and welcome address, followed by a short introduction to ZAG management and the Fire Laboratory. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aleš Žnidarič, Director of ZAG, presented the activities of the Fire-Safe and Sustainable Built Environment Department and outlined ongoing and potential projects.

During the laboratory tour, the delegation was introduced to both reaction-to-fire and fire resistance testing facilities. Demonstrations included accredited fire resistance testing procedures, research activities, battery safety testing, reduced-scale flashover experiments, and photovoltaic (PV) system fire testing. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of FRISSBE’s research, experimental capabilities, and technical expertise.

The visit concluded with an exchange of views and discussion of potential areas for future cooperation. The Minister and his delegation extended their visit beyond the originally scheduled timeframe, reflecting their strong interest in the work presented.

The event was conducted at a high professional level and showcased the coordinated efforts of the entire team. The preparation of the laboratories, execution of demonstration tests, and expert explanations highlighted the strength of collaboration within FRISSBE and ZAG.
