During the last week, the CrossFire “Advanced Structural Fire Engineering at Intersections Among Disciplines” Summer School was held at the Lake Como School of Advanced Studies in Italy. The School was organized over 5 days (23-27 May 2022) by Politecnico di Milano, covering a vast range of topics related to Structural Fire Engineering. Ten world-leading researchers and practitioners were invited to give lectures and inspire extensive discussion between the 34 selected young researchers in the audience.
FRISSBE was represented by Dr Andrea Lucherini, senior researcher, who took part in the School and presented his latest research outcomes related to fire dynamics. His presentation was entitled “Characterizing the fire decay phase of natural fires in post-flashover compartments” and it was part of the session entitled “Natural fires: available models and implementation strategies”, led by Olivier Vassart (Arcelor Mittal and University of Leuven, Belgium).
The Summer School was a great opportunity to engage with the scientific community and discuss the most recent advances and knowledge gaps related to Structural Fire Engineering.
