On October 1st and 2nd, Dr Andrea Lucherini from FRISSBE attended the Forest Value2 Conference “From WoodWisdom-Net to ForestValue: 20 years pioneering progress in European Forestry & Wood Tech” as a representative of ZAG at W3HUB in Berlin, Germany. This important event brought together stakeholders from the forestry sector, including researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore cutting-edge advancements in the forest-based bioeconomy, sustainability, and wood technologies. Completed and commencing projects were presented: the commencing ForestValue2 projects can be found HERE. The conference served as a platform for knowledge sharing, covering key topics such as the future of forestry under climate change, innovative wood technologies, and life cycle assessments for wood construction.
On the day before the event, September 30th, Dr Lucherini attended a meeting for the TiReX project (“Framework for smart condition reassessment of reclaimed timber to extend the service life of long-lived wood products using non-destructive testing and automated data postprocessing”). During the meeting, he engaged with other project partners on the latest developments and collaborative efforts. The meeting was joined by researchers from SINTEF (Norway), Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (Slovenia), Technical University of Madrid (Spain), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), and Vidzemes University of Applied Sciences (Latvia).
More information about the ForestValue2-funded TiReX project can be found HERE.
Dr Lucherini also joined the Communication Workshop led by Rhonda Smith from Minerva Communications, UK. The interactive sessions of the workshop discussed positive and negative experiences and outcomes of communication, Aristotle’s rhetorical triangle and relevance to ForestValue2 and its projects, and stakeholders & actors (prioritisation, outreach & delivering legacy), and made a list with the top 5 Do’s & Don’ts related to communication activities.
