Dr Laetitia Marrot's Student Mariem Zouari Successfully Defends PhD

On July 5, 2024, Mariem Zouari successfully defended her PhD at the InnoRenew CoE. The defence was attended by Dr Laetitia Marrot, who co-supervised the work alongside Prof Dr David DeVallance, the main supervisor.

Mariem Zouari’s dissertation, titled “Biocarbon-based Waterborne Functional Coating for Integrated Adsorption and Photocatalytic Degradation of Indoor Volatile Organic Compounds,” was presented in front of the defence committee which comprised Prof Dr Andreja Kutnar, director of the InnoRenew CoE, Associate Professor Matthew Schwarzkopf from the University of Primorska, and Assistant Professor Mika Sipponen from Stockholm University.

During the defense, Prof Andreja Kutnar highlighted Mariem’s participation in multiple activities and the rich outcomes of her work. Both Dr Laetitia Marrot and Prof Dr David DeVallance, along with the entire FRISSBE team, expressed their pride in Mariem’s achievements. They congratulated her on her dedication and exceptional performance throughout her PhD journey.
