On 20th and 21st November, Dr Andrea Lucherini contributed to the professional training programme organised by Rothoblaas as part of Rothoschool, the company’s international education platform dedicated to advanced timber construction.
Rothoblaas, an Italian-based global leader in high-technology solutions for mass timber, energy-efficient buildings, and modern construction practices—regularly organises technical courses aimed at supporting engineers, designers, and construction professionals. This edition focused on the course “Technical Solutions in Detail for Timber Constructions”, which explored the full design process of timber buildings.
Across the two-day programme, participants examined key aspects of structural detailing, seismic performance, moisture protection, durability, connection systems, and overall construction quality. The course emphasised how careful design of each detail can prevent common errors, improve building performance, and ensure efficiency throughout the construction phase.
Dr Lucherini delivered a dedicated lecture on the fire resistance of timber buildings, addressing regulatory frameworks, methods for assessing fire performance, and practical solutions for achieving safe and robust timber structures. His contribution provided participants with up-to-date insights grounded in current research and experimental evidence.
The course offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen knowledge exchange between industry and research, supporting safer and more resilient timber construction across Europe.
