We bid farewell to Martina Manes from the University of Liverpool (UK) after her enriching visit to the FRISSBE department and ZAG. Her time with us was marked by insightful discussions, valuable presentations, and the establishment of promising collaborations.

During her visit, she gave a presentation on 5th April 2024 at ZAG about her research vision and experience in the fire safety engineering field. Moreover, she delivered a captivating presentation at our fire laboratory in Logatec on 11th April 2024 sharing invaluable insights into fire incident data, highlighting data-driven approaches to implement resilience and sustainability in building fire incidents. Her overview of international fire statistics provided a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field.

In addition to her presentation, she engaged in fruitful discussions with our team members to discuss and establish other projects. Notably, she is involved in the FIEERCE project alongside Ulises Rojas Alva and Andrea Lucherini, focusing on a Framework for Fire Impact Estimation on Environmental Sustainable Requirements and Comprehensive Optimization in the Built Environment.

We express our gratitude for her expertise, contributions, and collaborative spirit during her visit. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations and her return in November 2024.
