On May 24, the General Assembly of CFPA-Europe convened in Istanbul, bringing together key figures from national organizations across Europe dedicated to fire prevention, safety, security, and related risks. Founded in 1974, CFPA-Europe now comprises 26 member organizations, including the Slovenian Fire Protection Association. Dr Aleš Jug, the current President of the Board of Directors of the Slovenian Fire Protection Association, attended to the assembly.
The General Assembly's agenda focused on reviewing and approving financial reports from the past year, as well as outlining the work plan for the coming year. Reports from CFPA-Europe's Commissions on Training, Fire Safety, Security, and Marketing were also presented. The upcoming work plan is especially significant as it includes the development of new guidelines on micro-mobility, batteries, and other emerging risks associated with the green transition.
Slovenia has an active role within CFPA-Europe. The Slovenian Fire Protection Association will host working meetings of all CFPA-Europe Commissions in Ljubljana this October. These meetings are set to be part of the second Safety and Prevention event, scheduled for 23 and 24 October 2024 at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event is organized in partnership with FRISSBE, reflecting our ongoing commitment to advancing fire safety and prevention.
