Our senior researcher Andrea Lucherini is a guest on the latest episode of the Fire Science Show podcast created by Wojciech Węgrzyński.

They talked about intumescent coatings and their thermophysical properties that are used to create an insulative layer that sometimes is the only thing holding fire from destroying a structure. In both his PhD and MSc, Andrea excelled at their research, hence being a very suitable guest to discuss in depth all the engineering (and also a bit of magic) that goes into an intumescent coating.
