On Saturday, July 27, the Firefighting Center for Education and Technological Development Split – Vučevica "VA.C.E.T.RA.S" hosted a seminar titled "Gašenje požara fotonaponskih elektrana" (Firefighting in Photovoltaic Power Plants). This event was organized in collaboration with the Firefighting Association of the Split-Dalmatia County, aiming to educate firefighters about the specific challenges and techniques involved in extinguishing fires in photovoltaic power plants.

The seminar featured presentations from experts in the fields of fire protection and photovoltaic systems. Among the speakers was Dr Aleš Jug, head of the Fire Research and Innovation Unit at FRISSBE. His presentation, "Challenges of Modern Technologies in Fire Protection," provided a deep dive into the complexities and advancements in firefighting technologies relevant to solar power installations.

Additional presentations included Prof Ivan Marasović, head of the Department of Nanoelectronics and Photovoltaic Conversion at FESB and Miroslav Merćep, shift commander at the Zagreb City Fire Department.

The event, held at Vučevica, Croatia, facilitated dynamic discussions among the participants, focusing on future strategies for enhancing fire protection in photovoltaic power plants. The engagement and expertise of the speakers were highly appreciated, contributing significantly to the overall success of the seminar.
