FRISSBE Researchers at CTU in Prague

Oct 10, 2025

On 7th-10th October, the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague hosted a joint workshop and research meeting that brought together experts and young researchers to exchange ideas on fire safety, research collaboration, and science communication.

The event featured contributions from Dr Andrea Lucherini (ZAG, and University of Primorska – FAMNIT) and Dr Urška Blumauer (FireLAB ZAG), who shared their recent work and perspectives on advancing fire safety research and improving the communication of scientific findings to broader audiences.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions on bridging laboratory research with engineering practice, supported by the presence of Josef Král, who represented the practical application side of fire engineering. The sessions combined scientific depth with interactive dialogue, making the exchange both productive and inspiring.

The workshop was organised by the CTU Faculty of Civil Engineering under its Initiation Fund for Young Scientists, with strong support from Kamila Cábová Horová, Petr Hejtmánek, Daniela Šejnová Pitelková, and Simona Rušarová, among others. From morning sessions on science communication to afternoon discussions on fire research, the event demonstrated the value of collaboration between CTU and ZAG in shaping safer and more resilient buildings.
