Dr Aleš Jug recently participated in a meeting of the FEHRL Research Coordinators at ZAG, Ljubljana. Taking place on April 9th and 10th, 2024, this meeting brought together research leaders from various countries to shape the research agenda of the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL), an organization for which the director of ZAG, Dr Aleš Žnidarič, currently serves as the president.
During the meeting, Dr Aleš Jug presented the FRISSBE department and the ZAG fire laboratory capabilities. He emphasized our commitment to cutting-edge fire safety research and showcased the capabilities of our team, which currently has 25 members. Aleš highlighted our collaborative efforts with industry partners and other stakeholders, highlighting our focus on sustainability and fire safety testing and research of materials and structures.
Dr Aleš Jug provided insights into the diverse range of tests and experiments conducted in the FRISSBE department, including those related to fire reaction, fire resistance, bespoke experiments, and research on biobased materials, mass timber, and façades. Additionally, he discussed ongoing research on topics such as photovoltaic systems and lithium batteries, underscoring the importance of our research in contributing to Europe's energy, climate, and sustainability goals.
After the presentation, there was a discussion on fire safety in electric cars and sustainable development.
