As part of FRISSBE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration in fire science, Dr Ulises Rojas-Alva recently visited the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science (SKLFS) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Invited by Prof Xiaoyu Ju, Dr Rojas-Alva had the unique opportunity to share insights from the FRISSBE project and discuss the challenges of lithium-ion battery fires in the built environment with a large audience, comprising over 3,000 students and faculty. During his presentation, he highlighted the potential risks associated with these batteries in fire scenarios and engaged in an active Q&A session and a workshop with USTC students.
