In episode 214 on the Fire Science Show, a podcast hosted by Dr Wojciech Węgrzyński , Martin Veit  was invited to talk about thermal imagers used by the fire service. The podcast episode dives into the background for thermal imagers and the principles behind, as well as how this applies to the equipment used in the fire service.

Furthermore, he discusses the recent findings from his recently published report, “Measuring thermal image quality for fire service applications”, a project funded by the Fire Protection Research Foundation and co-authored by Dr Andrea Lucherini, Prof Grunde Jomaas and Prof Bart Merci. The project focuses on image processing of thermal images and different techniques to quantify image quality of thermal images, as well as outlines how a thermal image quality dataset could be used for this purpose.
