Nik Rus, a PhD Student and member of the FRISSBE team, is attending the SEENERGY 2024 conference in Celie, Slovenia. The conference, known for its focus on sustainability and green transition, provided a platform for discussions on various aspects of renewable energy, including solarization in Southeast Europe, with a focus on legislation changes, investment trends, and cybersecurity challenges in the solar energy sector.
Nik engaged in the session titled “How far along is solarization in SE Europe, and will we be able to use the sun?” The session is discussing the future of photovoltaics, the financing of energy projects, and the role of local communities in transitioning to a low-carbon society. He is also networked with professionals from various sectors, including companies involved in PV system manufacturing and grid management, gaining valuable insights into the current landscape of renewable energy initiatives.
As a PhD student in the Renewable Materials for Healthy Built Environments program at the University of Primorska, Nik’s participation in SEENERGY aligned with his research interests in sustainable transformation. His insights from the conference will inform his doctoral research and contribute to the ongoing efforts of the FRISSBE project in advancing sustainable energy solutions.
