Jul 18, 2024

Our interns from the International Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering (IMFSE), Liliana Martinez and Rauan Adikey, have contributed to the latest edition of the "Burning Matters" newsletter.

The article, "E-bikes caused 21,000 fires in China last year!", dives into the fire risks associated with e-mobility devices, particularly focusing on the prevalence and safety challenges in China. In their piece, they discuss the widespread use of e-scooters and e-bikes, highlighting the convenience and environmental benefits these devices offer while also emphasizing the fire hazards posed by lithium-ion batteries. They explore strategies for improving safety protocols and regulations to mitigate these risks and ensure the responsible use of e-mobility technologies.
