Our FRISSBE ERA Chair holder, Grunde Jomaas, was invited to present as a keynote speaker at the Fire Safety Asia Conference and Exhibition (FiSAC) 2022 in Singapore. The event was jointly organised by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and National Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Council (NFEC) and took place from the 16th to the 18th of November. The theme was 'Rethink, Redefine and Redesign – A breakthrough in fire safety, sustainability and emergency response.' The programme is available here.

This was the first trip out of Europe for any of the FRISSBE team members. There were also other prominent speakers such as Jimmy Jönsson, Ricky Carvel and Susan Lamont.

Grunde presented the research regarding PV panels and how this issue is strongly related to sustainability and fire safety. The research work was in majority done by his past PhD student Jens Steemann Kristensen.

There was also a very interesting panel discussion with Ms Susan Lamont (Fire Safety of Building Envelopes); Major Patrick Parayre (Notre-Dame de Paris Fire) & Mr Victor Ho (Comparative Studies on Performance between Sprinkler System and Water Mist System) moderated by Abdul Razak Raheem.
