In the middle of September 2022 our new Fire laboratory was visited by Firefighter's Association of Slovenia, more precisely by 4 members of their Commission for prevention. One of the reasons for the visit lies in a past and very successful event FIRE TAKES NO VACATION in Ig and so the main purpose now was to set a ground for the following one.

The visitors were welcomed by the director of The Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, Aleš Žnidarič, together with the Assistant Director, Marko Brezigar, and Heads of both departments on the location, Friderik Knez (The Department of Building Physics), and Grunde Jomaas (The Department for Research of Fire-safe Sustainable Built Environment).

The tour of the Laboratory for materials and the Laboratory hall has also opened some discussions about the possibilities in joint projects that both sides would benefit from. Afterwards the group sat down to determine a few anchor points for the next event for firefighters that will most likely take place in spring 2023. The Commission concluded the visit with their own session in the board room.
