World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE2023)

Jun 26, 2023

Between the 19th and 22nd of June 2023, our own FRISSBE senior researchers Dr Andrea Lucherini attended the World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE2023) in Oslo, Norway. The international conference attracted 800+ experts, scientists, academics, researchers, manufacturers, architects and students from all over the world focused on wood and timber science, technology and engineering.

On the 4th day, Dr Lucherini gave a presentation entitled “Predicting the effective char depth in timber elements exposed to natural fires, including the cooling phase” in the timber fire engineering session. The presentation is the result of the following conference manuscript published in the WCTE2023 proceedings:

Lucherini, A., Šejnová Pitelková, D., & Mozer, V. (2023). Predicting the effective char depth in timber elements exposed to natural fires, including the cooling phase. World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE), Oslo, Norway. https://doi.org/10.52202/069179-0226

The conference manuscript was written as a result of a close collaboration between the Department for Research of Fire-Safe Sustainable Built Environment (FRISSBE) of the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) and the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings (UCEEB) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).
