On Thursday, 16th October, the ZAG Fire Laboratory in Logatec opened its doors to visitors for the annual Open Day, welcoming 50 attendees from various organisations involved in fire safety and research.
The event opened in the large laboratory hall where a short introduction set the programme. Visitors were split into three groups. Each group attended three focused demonstrations (about 20 minutes each): a fire whirl, a small-flame test, and a fire in a scaled-down compartment. The day concluded with a photovoltaic (PV) fire test, conducted for all participants together.
The demonstrations highlighted the lab’s experimental capabilities and testing methods used to examine fire behaviour and material response. Staff prepared safety equipment, ensured laboratory cleanliness, and made informational material available to visitors, helping the event run smoothly.
Overall, the Open Day provided a valuable occasion to share practical know-how and strengthen connections with the professional community. Thanks to everyone involved for their organisation and engagement.
