Firefighters' association of Ljubljana Forum

Oct 23, 2024

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Ljubljana Firefighters Association held a meeting to which two members of the FRISSBE team were invited to give presentations.

The Ljubljana Firefighters' Association (GZL) is a non-profit association that unites volunteer and industrial fire departments in Ljubljana. The GZL was founded on May 19, 1995, and supports its members with training, equipment and coordinated development to improve fire safety across the municipality. As part of the Slovenian Firefighters Association, the GZL works with other regional associations to maintain firefighting standards, preserve firefighting traditions and strengthen bonds between communities. Through these efforts, the GZL promotes fire safety as a non-profit, humanitarian activity in the Ljubljana region.

At the event, our researcher Nik Rus presented his work and the latest aspects of PV-related fires with our latest Slovenian translation of the PV guideline while Dr Aleš Jug, head of the Fire Research and Innovation Unit, gave an overview of the research activities and testing capabilities of the ZAG Fire Laboratory in Logatec and invited them to visit our premises and potentially establish some future collaborations.
